Behind the quirky landscapes and loveable characters, Jimmy Liao’s works hide a poignant sense of loneliness.

With over 50 titles under his name, and a long list of adaptations, it’s hard to imagine that Jimmy didn’t think about making illustration his career simply because he wasn’t aware that was an option. As he confesses, “I’ve always been a little clueless and never really thought about what I wanted to do. It was only until I was preparing for university entrance exams that I realised, through a classmate, that you could actually choose to study art in school. It was only then, in that very short period of time, that I started to prepare for my applications to art school.”

Find out about his success in August- October 2016 issue of little.
